Gambia faces a high prevalence of land and real estate fraud, in which gullible investors and development workers are driven to financial ruin by dubious networks. So-called "sandal investors" were unable to see through this system; however, with the introduction of GEAIS Holding’s new building regulations—implemented in collaboration with the government—these criminal schemes are finally being brought to an end.
